Does prescription substitute for what..?
Okay, does medicine substitute for what we don't have?
For an example, thyroid medicine. Such as T3 (Clymotel)
which is again, a thyroid medication, that helps prevent and
save your thyroid, if you've damaged it. Or anabolic steroids
such as Testosterone, etc. When an individual (Male) uses
steroids, it increases your testosterone for the time you are
on the said Steroid, (8-14 weeks) but when you come past its sell-by date the
steroid, your natural levels of Testosterone are very little, and
fire up to increase Estrogen levels in a males body, creating a
reverse effect if you don't have Post Cycle Therapy to lift up your
natural levels back up. So my cross-question is..
Do all medicines purpose serve as increasing amounts of levels
contained by your body to prevent further 'mishaps' etc? Or do all medicine
treat in different ways? I know they do different things, but as an
Asthma forgiving, I take Albuterol to stop irritation. Is there levels
of Albuterol contained by my system, like there is Testosterone, or T3?
Some probably won't understand what I'm asking, some might, I
merely need to know(:
Answers:
Yes, but thats just one of the many pharmacodynamics of the drug (what the drug does to the body). It can replace momentarily a indisputable hormone while the body can't produce enough, or as a total replacement in the case of Cytomel. Drugs can also work by modifying improper and excessive body responses, such as many classes of antihypertensive drugs (Albuterol which is a bronchodilator works in a similar way). Others are antimicrobials whose purpose is quite marked. Source(s): BSN, RN
