I took my first 16mg dose of Suboxone 24hrs ago; will I quality the effects of an opiate if taken?

Answers:
No. Suboxone is explicitly designed to suppress the withdrawal symptoms in need creating the high.
if it was your first dose you should still feel the opiate. Later on the effect of the opiate not be feel at all. A lot of it depends on how much Suboxone you take and how much time passed between doses
It is possible but, what you need to understand is this, Suboxone contains Buprenorphine and Naloxone. Buprenorphine is a high powered, long acting opiate. Naloxone is an opiate receptor antagonist. In laymens language. The naloxone allows the buprenorphine to bind to the opiate receptors, allieviating the withdrawal symptoms. But, it will not allow any other opiates that enter the system to bind. You will not get high. Naloxone traditionally last for 48 - 72 hours after your last dose of Suboxone. It will be nothing but a waste of money for you to try to obtain high off of any opiates.

Trust me I know, I used to shoot heroin and when I took suboxone. I tried shooting 50 - 100 dollars of heroin at a time to get soaring and it almost never worked. It only worked maybe 1 or 2 times, this was singular when I was starting out taking Suboxone. But, I have come to find that with repeated Suboxone use, it become almost impossible to achieve an opiate high while on Suboxone.

You can find all this information out by the simple google search out phrase "how long does suboxone's effects last" .. something akin to that. Hope this helps Source(s): Personal Experience
