Is near a formula to derive the PCV from the haemoglobin pro of a cat?

My cat's haemoglobin is 7.7 gms %. He is a CRF cat who has turned anaemic. I want to start him on epogen but I have to find his PCV value beforehand doing that.
I dont want another blood test.... is there a way to determine the PCV(packed cell volume) base on the haemoglobin value?
Answers:
In humans, the PCV and hematocrit are roughly 3x the haemoglobin grams%. It is a general rule of thumb, and most likely it would still be applicable to your cat. In your casing, it would be about 23% (which is certainly low, since your cat is anemic after all). Source(s): med school
