PKers & Dopamine Question?

Lets say someone takes painkillers for the euphoric feeling, and after a while they draw from immune to it.
They need more and more of it to satisfy the dopamine gates. But if they are past its sell-by date of it a while, say a few month's or a year, does it return to normal, or is it permanently destabilized?
Answers:
the effect is temporary as the neurons internalize their dopamine receptors. They will return to normal once dopamine levels return to commonplace for a sufficient amount of time. The genes encoding the dopamine receptors are not downregulated, just the receptors themselves are internalized and their translation is slowed.

The effect of the drugs will return to normal in some time, vary on an individual basis. Be patient, and ask your doctor about drugs boost your dopamine uptake, if he has not already discussed this with you. Source(s): University Pharmacology
Well since your body does get used to the drug. you tend to thieve more and more to get the effect. You can run out of dopamine. So what the doctor will do is put you on a Dopamine uptake drug
