I basically took 4 mg of Xanax, will it knock me out?
I want to go to sleep, it is almost midnight, and I've been sleeping all time, so I can't do it naturally. I'm hoping this will get my sleeping pattern within order, I have an appointment at midday tomorrow, and I can't break the night, I already tried yesterday and in recent times made it worse by sleeping at 7am. Anyway, I am also taking Luvox which is said to make it stronger. I'm starting to feel laggy... but thats it.

It depends. If you have used Xanax for a long time and at that big of a dose it might not help. If you do not normally take that high-ranking of a dose or just started taking Xanax then it should 'knock you out' I know it would for me.
Luvox does make Xanax more powerful contained by that the Luvox reduces the body's metabolism and clearance of Xanax. So the concentration in the blood is higher. It is not typically a problem but it is something to be aware of.
I would also, whether you help yourself to the 4mg of Xanax or not, talk with your doctor if the sleep problem is severe then other medication might be better because they are specially tailored for insomnia. And getting on a plant to reset your sleep/wake cycle would be ideal.
Good luck. Source(s): I am a medical student with a specialist degree (Hons. BSc) within Pharmacology with a focus on psychopharmacology. I have interned under two psychiatrists and one neurologist. In totalling I have worked as a pharmacy assistant.
