Accidentally taken 2 doses of 500mg Augmentin.?
I'm currently taking a 500mg prescription for Augmentin for a sinus, eye, and ear infection. In my stupid state of sleeplessness, I took an extra dose. I took it WITH a meal, and I see that 1000mg is actually prescribed to severe cases (so it can't be terribly bad).
I guess I'm a short time ago looking for a second opinion - am I going to die or am I okay or am I going to be paralyzed when I wake up or what? I used to take Augmentin as a child, so I'm not new to the stuff, but overdoses kind of freak me out.
I'm 18, by the way (don't know if age determines anything).

Augmentin 500 mg contains amoxycillin 500 mg and clavulanic acid 125 mg. Double the dose may cause loose motion (nothing serious)

The drug augmentin belongs to the "Penicillins" catagory of drugs. these were the first discovered and most safe antibiotics we ever had. You plainly will not die because of this! But just make sure u dont do it again. (For that u can use the reminder function of your cell phones)
You can skip a dose if u r taking it three times in a afternoon. But please consult your doctor before doing so. The Augmentin contains "Clavalunic Acid" which preferentially gets eliminated from the kidneys sparring the antibiotic inside your bosy so that the drug remains for longer duration within your blood. so skipping a dose would be a good idea and that wont affect your treatment much.....
