Western Indigestion tablets/medicines VS Chinese herbal indigestion tablets?
I'm doing a 9th grade science experiment where I put chinese and western indigestion tablets into coca cola heated at different temperatures and measured the gas release when i put the tablets into the coke next to a gas syringe. However, i'm having trouble with my analysis. Could anyone tell me nearly the scientific or technical results of when this happens, or which one is more powerful and why? The reaction that actually happens? Please, reply!

If you are have problems with your analysis. I'm having problems with the design and implication of your experiment. i totally fail to see how mixing anything with cola at various temperature can give an insight into how effective it is as an indigestion remedy.
As for the physics of your experiment, cola is carbonated. The solubility of a gas is inversely proportional to its temperature, so by heat the cola you will drive off CO2 anyway. If the added tablet/herbal remedy undergoes a chemical reaction as a result of the bitterness of the cola, then you will get even more gas evolved. You might, as a matter of interest, consider measure the pH changes in the resulting solution instead of the gas evolved. Source(s): BSc in physiology
