What make you enjoy a false positive for Amphetamines?
I have been clean for over a year, I don't even smoke cigarettes anymore so conjure up my total irritation when my probation officer announces that I came up positive for amphetamine! Not Methamphetamine but Amphetamine. I wasn't even sure what that is. I have read that cold medicine can cause this is that true? I am so angry that they could go around pointing their finger at me saying I am using if this be caused by something stupid like NyQuil! Seriously I have worked frozen to get this far for this long and I am livid that I tested positive for something that I wasn't doing. Has anyone else has heard of this!?

Sudafed. It is one of the ingredients contained by meth. They dont do a different test for each its just amphetamines. I took a sudafed at work and next we got into a wreck. When the drug tested me, I popped positive for amphetamines, but I had told them in finance that I took it. They just did another screen two days later and it be negative. P.S. I am VERY proud of you for becoming a productive member of society.
Don't take this the wrong route, but the only person you can be mad at is yourself. When you appropriate a drug test, there is a range that you hold to be within, even taking over the counter medicine (if you take it have directed), will still keep you within those ranges. The only course that you can be outside that range is if you abuse the over the counter medicine or if you are using something else. Even prescription pills, if used as prescribed will save you in the range that you need to be contained by, only if you abuse them will you show a positive. Hope that helps. It is possible that the extraordinary drugs you used (or some of them) were stored in your fat cell. This is true of some drugs. If this is the case you could have a false positive at any time.
