Solve by the expulsion method.?

5x+2y=15
7x-3y=11
Answers:
5x+2y=15
7x-3y=11

We'll eliminate the y.

3(5x+2y)=(15)(3)

(2)(7x-3y)=(11)(2)

15x + 6y = 45
14x - 6y = 22

By Addition:

29x = 67
x = 67/29 or 2.31

Substitute this for x in either of your initial equations to solve for y.

5(2.31)+2y=15
y = 1.725
7x=11+3y
x=(11+3y)/7

5*(11+3y)/7+2y=15
(55+15y)/7+2y=15
55/7+15/7y+2y=15
29/7y=15-55/7
y=105/29-55/29
y=60/29 = 2.06897

5x+2*60/29=15
5x=15-120/29
x=3-24/29
x=63/29 = 2.17241
