Augmentin side effects?
I've been taking augmentin for an ear/throat infection and I have been getting crumbling tongue, cold and or canker sores on my lips and joint pains, and it also feels approaching my feet and hands are blistered up. Are these side effects?
Oh, and I also ate some very sour kiwi yesterday, and I be told that kiwi juice could cause your tongue to peel and lead to cold sores on the lips.......an allergic reaction to kiwi?

If you have eaten kiwi only just before this, then it could be the medicine. Allergic reaction can form over time however. It could be the medicine. Kiwi which are still sour, like any other sour foods, will make any unambiguous cuts in your mouth hurt. I don't think it's a reaction at adjectives, just what always happens to everyone. Call the doctor.
Augmentin is basically amoxicillin, but with an added drug, clavulanate, to trick resistant bacteria. The symptoms you are describing is not typical for reaction to penicillins such as augmentin. Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, and possibly the joint pain. The mouth sores are most likely due to a contact allergy near the kiwi, seeing as how they are all in one particular nouns. Also, the acid in the kiwi could cause this, but who know? The main things you have to worry around when it comes to allergies to penicillin or antibiotics like them is signs of anaphalaxis. Have you eaten kiwi previously without a problem? If yes then I think that it's a hostile response to the amoxicillian. Possibly too much sunshine while on the antibiotics. How much longer do you have on the amoxi? If more than a day I would call your doctor and ask him to prescribe something different. I have a friend who was on gentamycin and the skin everywhere started to peel off. He have to stay on the gent because of MRSA but he hurt for weeks.
