Do you inevitability Lots of As to be a doctor?

Im 18 and I want to be a doctor but i dont know if its possible.
These are the grades i have so far;

Intermediate 2 Hospitality - A
Intermediate 2 Maths - A
Intermediate 2 English - B
Higher Psychology - B
Higher Philosophy - C
Higher Geography - D

I thought about going to college to do Physics, Chemistry and Human Biology but im not sure if i should. Science isnt my strong point and i think the solely way i could go to university to be a doctor would be if i got As surrounded by all these subjects, even then i might not get into university.
Does anyone own any advice? Can you still get into med school next to fairly average grades? or is there any other ways of getting into university to be a doctor? Or Should i just pass up on my dream of being a doctor?
Answers:
Well, if science isn't your strong subject then why be a doctor? I don't see how any of the classes that you have taken are going to help you out. If you did run to college and majored in Human Biology and minored in Chemistry, it would help you contained by getting into medical school.
Being a Doctor requires 95% dedication to studying and school while in school. Therefore, you should love the subject enthusiastically. That is just my opinion. The only grounds I am able to get only A's is because of my great enthusiasm for Medicine and Human Biology. I study for fun! People in my classes thought I was weird, but they adjectives wanted to study with me..
Do something that you absolutely love! Then you will bring back A's
Looks like you are at school contained by Scotland when you quote

Int 2's and Highers

To get into Uni to study medicine you will need at least possible 5 Highers
mostly at grade 'A'.,so it doesn't look like you could achieve this. if you didn't receive into 'H' classes straight after your Standard Grade exams

Look at the websites of Uni's you are interested in like Glasgow Uni and it will tell you the entrance requirements for Medicine.

You'll probably call for good Highers in Maths, English and Science subjects

Remember to study to be a Doctor is very knotty, so it's far better to study something that isn't going to cause you a lot of stress.

There are many right careers out there for you, so take your time and expect of something that you enjoy doing, and that you are good at.

Good Luck !
pretty much
So you didn't even take any real science classes? Your grades are pretty doomed to failure, you know. If you can't handle geography and philosophy what makes you think that you can toy with organic chemistry, biology, chemistry, and physics?

You can't get into medical school beside "fairly average" grades (because average is just as close to being devastating as it is to being good). It's going to get a whole LOT harder contained by college, and if you barely passed these easy classes, then what make you think that you'll pass classes that are 25x harder? How could you even handle medical conservatory if you aren't even good at science? I don't mean to sound rude, but I suggest that you bequeath up your dream and become a medical technician or something.
Almost everyone who applies to medical school within scotland will have 5 As at highers. Some even have 6 As! You might have have a chance of getting in with AAAAB or perchance even AAABB, but with your current grades there is absolutely no unpredictability of you getting in. I know people who have 6 As and didn't obtain into medical school. Also remember grades are just a tiny part of what get you in - basically everyone has at lowest possible AAAAB and they only look at your grades to see if they are going to even bother looking at the rest of your application. You need to do loads of extra curricular activities, volunteer work, work experience etc, write an amazing personal statement and do terribly well at interview.

Also the grades you get in highers are expected to be within one sitting. So you would need to study 5 highers at college (including biology and chemistry) now and get 5 As. From your olden grades it doesn't seem like you would manage this. If science is not your strong point do you really devise you can get As in biology, chemistry and physics?

And if science isn't your strong point why do you want to be a doctor? Medicine is all more or less science, and it is so much harder than school. I did absolutely no work, homework or studying ever when I was within school and got the grades I needed to get into medical institution. But now I'm studying medicine I have to work really sturdy all the time and study for months before my exams just to score through. Do you really think you are up to this?

There are other ways to get in such as studying a amount such as anatomy first, but you won't get into an anatomy degree with the grades you own, and since you can't do science you probably won't manage a degree in anatomy.

I'm sorry to be blunt but, I really don't see anyway for you to win into medical school and more importantly I don't think you would manage contained by medical school if you did get in.
I don't even recognize why you want to be a doctor since you don't do science. That is like saying you want to be a footballer but kicking a ball isn't your strong point!

Why do you want to be a doctor? Is it because you want to work next to people? Because there plenty of other things you could do working with folks. Go and talk to a careers advisor about your option. Source(s): Medical student in Scotland
