How can doctors see if someone is 'drug seeking'?

I'm only curious because I get really bad migraines and closely of times I have to go to urgent care because I can't even sleep they're so impossible. I had to go the other day and I hear the nurse say I'm there often to the doctor. They give me the medication and was on my way... but I still get that verbs that they think I'm doing it, so what do they look for?

It really is a trade illegal. You can read a lot about things people deduce we look for, but the doctors who give a damn know their patients. If they continue helping you, and continue giving you prescriptions, its no big concordat. Don't worry.
There isn't any universal method or anything reliable. Considering the number of people with chronic torment, a lot of people are "drug seekers" for a good origin, as well. Don't be too thin-skinned about it. You're bound to be mis-identified on occasion, especially if you move about to those "Doc-in-a-Box" clinics, so just be straight with them, be open to their thinking as all right, and hope for the best. Its easy. Migraines are NOT an indication for narcotics (vicodin, oxycodone, demerol, morphine, etc) , so you give the correct medication and send the people on their way. Honestly one of my preceptors finds that giving society bendryl and having them sleep it off is largely effective.
If you are frequently going to urgent fastidiousness your problem is that you aren't being adequately managed next to prophylactic meds, and you should also have a prescription for abortive medications. you need to travel see your primary care physician, or get one if you don't have one. If he or she cannot gain you under control you can be referred on.

Edit: It is foolish to make assumptions about ancestors, because more often than not they are wrong. I have had migraines, and know that I would a bit prevent them than have them, hence the reason to make a look in to your PCP. Source(s): 4th year medical student.
Frequent fliers can raise flags however usually you can tell when someone is drug seeking by their behaviors. They will usually narrate you the exact medication and drug that they want.
They are so obvious, they tell you what meds they want. They seem to deduce we have never seen anybody like them past...too funny . Source(s): life in the ER
