Translocations contained by spot on types of cancer - do they arise somatically? How (somatic cell - no meiosis)?

I know translocations occur as errors in chromosomal pairing before crossing over. So why would this ensue during the person's life time in somatic cells? Cancers such as CML and MDS - when do the associated translocations arise?
Answers:
Translocations require double strand breaks approaching in crossing over during meiosis.. Translocations can also occur in somatic cell as a result of damage from ionizing radiation or other mutagens.
Hi Fresh.

Chromosomal translocations can occur during mitosis. Therefore, yes, they can arise somatically.
