Uh, I'm going to assume that by "in-house" MD you are referring to a hospitalist, not the TV show. The hospitalist may be more familiar with the latest within technology that his/her hospital has to offer, and may be better able to "grease the skids" as far as propelling the forgiving along the diagnostic process. In theory, the hospitalist should be more familiar with critical aspects of meticulousness, although I am not entirely comfortable with this thought. The hospitalist has only brief education of the patient and of the patient's medical history. I am conflicted, but personally I'd give the top to my internist caring for me in the hospital.
None. They're all actors. I'd prefer a real physician.
