On Wellbutrin XL 150mg. Can I lately stop it in need weaning?
I have been on it for one month and anxiety has gotten really impossible. I also take Ativan 0.5mg twice a day and by noon today I be already on my 2nd Ativan. Help!

Do not stop taking any of your medications without a dr's assistance. I did it once and was hospitalized, second time I have a grand mal seizure. you don't want to mess around with this stuff but you do want to be accessible with your doctor and tell him it's just stopped for you. I had to try paxil (made me fat) wellbutrin (didn't work), zoloft (didn't work), effexor (made me worse) and ativan before FINALLY they found the right medication for me, PROZAC and XANAX...I still suffer but it never goes away but these medication are by far the most manageable for me now. The problem here is wellbutrin I believe 150 mg is the lowest possible does and 0.5 mg of ativan is the 2nd lowest with that starting at .25..wehn you own depression and severe social anxiety people really don't understand that one this is REAL and the dr's dont understadn you are not SEEEKING drugs..you are seriously suffereing, i've been at hand. I'm on 60 mg of prozac and 1mg of xanax 3 x a day or as needed...this is the best i've been so far. talk to your dr
No, you need to consent to the Wellbutrin kick in and start to work, medications close to wellbutrin and prozac do not start immediately, it takes about a month or two for them to inaugurate working at their full potential, so you should continue taking it, but if you feel it is causing you to be worse next you need to call your doctor so they can put you on something else, maybe zoloft, or lexapro. But you should never merely stop taking it because your anxiety could get alot worse and you will go through a withdrawel, you need to agree to a doctor know you are going to stop and they can let you knwo how to wean off of it properly. I suggest to speak to the doctor who prescribed the medication for you in the region of your increasing anxiety. Perhaps he/she can adjust the dose or switch you to something else. It can take up to 6 weeks to reach a therapeutic horizontal of some of these types of drugs.

Wellbutrin is not an SSRI. An SSRI or SNRI is worse to come past its sell-by date of because of their heavy effects on serotonin. Wellbutrin is easier, and probably would not require weaning off since 150mg is the lowest does, but I AM NOT A DOCTOR. You shouldn't start or stop drugs without proper consultation near your doctor.
