Blood loss disappearance??

so you can die of blood loss... what if you were to drink the blood?
Answers:
I'm sure it wouldn't get back into your bloodstream fast plenty. Think about it -- if you ingest blood, it will go to your stomach, not your veins.
If you have excessive blood loss, afterwards yes, you can die. Your main organs in your body responsible for survival (brain and heart) require constant blood supply. If you lose a lot of blood, those organs will not seize enough oxygen, which is supplied through oxygenated blood and those organs will not be able to function efficiently to keep hold of you alive.

Drinking blood will not go directly into your blood stream. It won't get the chance to get your blood stream because it will be destroyed before it can even be absorbed. You will need to return with blood infused into your blood vessels to replace the blood loss if it was a huge amount that you lost.
Good Question.

Firstly, the indigestion of blood is not natural. Your stomach produces the chemical hydrochloric acid (HCl) and its major function is to break down the ingested food/substance into a simpler form so it can be used by the body to create nutrients for use by your cells. So if you ingest your blood your body will break-down the blood (blood is comprised of Red blood cells which carry oxygen to your body, white blood cell which fight infection and platelets which help your blood clot to stop bleeding) and "try" to use the blood to fuel the body's functions but the nutrients required to fuel the cells, do not come from current broken-down cell.

Secondly, when blood is ingested, the body has an automatic mechanism to expel unwanted material. This is achieve by making the person feeling nauseous thus they'll [most of the time] throw-up the blood (this also depends on how much blood have been ingested).

To answer you're question more directly, you cannot hope to live if you try to drink the blood. If you have have significant blood loss you will require a transfusion of blood at the hospital and the cause of the bleeding will need to be stopped. The blood will also be "contaminated" because it will have begin to oxidize and you would've had to drink it off of the ground (or wherever) depending on the mechanism of injury which is cause the blood loss.

In my experience when some patients have ingested blood they usually fell very sick and eventually vomit the contents up. I see this a lot at the moment, especially when a patient has has a doomed to failure nose-bleed (epistaxis). They do not know how to apply first aid to stop the bleeding and tilt their head so the blood runs straight into their stomach.

I hope that answered your question.

Your digestive juices would destory the blood cell. that is if your gut is still working after all the blood loss. when you digest it takes everything down to simple absorbable molecules, approaching glucose and other sugars and amino acids. Source(s): physiology books. i dunno
The last time I be hospitalized it was for bleeding ulcers in my stomach. i.e. I be digesting my own blood and the insidious part of that is as your stomach tries to digest the blood it has a tough time and produces even more acid and enlarging the ulcer producing even more blood, almost died. Also what comes on the rear end of "eating" blood is no picnic either.
HAH WINNN!! thats what would evolve. also, you would still die.
