Is taking Finasteride (Propecia) sheltered at 19 and what dose?
Hello Im 19 and im suffering from quite aggressive male pattern baldness, my hairline is recede quite abit and I haven't really got a bald spot even so but it is thinning and i would really love to keep it how it is.
I know it may sound stupid bit i really down want to go lacking hair in my early 20s my head shape isn't upright lol
Is Finasteride safe to use for someone who is 19 and what would the best dose be I have ordered the 1mg pills and i have be reading that splitting the 1mg pills into 4 pieces and taking 1 piece is the best method as it produces the least side effects and nearly all the effects of a 1mg pill.
Thanks for the advice

It really depends on your plans. Personally, I would try Rogaine (minoxidil) first. It works by dilating blood vessel, and was originally used for high blood pressure as a tablet. People started growing hair within random places, and the rogaine shampoo was born.
Propecia has a poor side-effect profile and is really expensive. It works by preventing the formation of Dihydrotestoterone from testosterone. Elevated DHT within the scalp is thought to be a reason for male pattern baldness. While the body really doesn't really stipulation DHT (except in the male fetus), taking finasteride can have some side effects.
Especially at your age I would be suspicious. First of all, you may not be fully developed (though you might feel it). Second, you may want to have a nearest and dearest in your future and taking finasteride can jeopardize this.
Finally, taking 0.25mg of finasteride probably wouldn't help you at adjectives. In fact Propecia is already considered the low dose of finasteride. At higher doses, Proscar has 5mg and is used to treat BPH. Lowering the dose can head to subtherapeutic levels that still give you unwanted side effects. Consult your physician.
Yes as directed on package.
