Why do we enjoy medical imaging?

Answers:
I definately agree with the first answer. Doctors tend to try to go with the smallest invasive and harmful way of trying to figure out what is wrong near us (at least if their ethics are in proclaim they do). Medical Imaging provides several ways of looking inside the body without having to do surgery. There are several types of medical imaging..... those listed within the previous answer as well as sonography (diagnostic medical ultrasound), nuclear medicine, and PET. Each type of imaging has its own pros and cons which doctors consider when order tests.
To support or confirm clinical decision making.

A common misconception is that imagery are used to diagnose disease. This is a false and dangerous misconception.
Images, like all conducting tests, should always be adjunctive... an additional tool toward the end of a clinical investigation.

Images mute the differential diagnoses (list of suspected causes or conditions), support or confirm diagnoses physicians have already made through a thorough history, physical exam and ancillary testing.
