Does man enrol contained by Honors college increase your likelihood of getting into medical arts school?

How much harder are honors classes in college compared to regular classes? Will it be easier to get a higher GPA contained by regular classes as opposed to honors classes?
Answers:
not necessarily -they look for a well rounded student. balance your coaching with volunteer work & a job. diversify your college credits.
It depends on the class. I am in my college's honors program and it really depends on the class. I took honors intro to theater (general education requirement) and compared with my friends who took non-honors...Basically the objects and concepts are the same but we read more books and were graded on 1 midterm and a final project and the class itself be about 20 kids. Now the non honors class had about 400 and have quizzes, midterm and final...

Now for science..
I took honors organic chemistry for the last part of my sequence. The other non honors classes be difficult in itself..however honors is just completely a different level and massively challenging, especially in the later stages of Ochem. Again I compared non honors beside honors ochem and I saw a few more reactions we had to know but the difficulty of the problems on the test be so much harder than non-honors..and even regular is hard enough.

I can't say it increases your probability...but it definitely doesn't hurt. Suppose they have 1 spot left, and you are compared next to someone who has the same GPA, same MCATs, nearly identical extracurricular, have the honors will probably give you an edge.

As for your second question, my GPA go up after taking honors classes. I guess for me, class size plays a role, since honors classes typically have smaller numbers of students.
Have you checked with the college you are thinking about attending? Chances are within are no 'honors' classes there. Honors or AP classes are usually offered at the high school horizontal for advanced students intending to go to college.

If you just want to coast through high institution take the 'regular' classes. But if you really want to prepare for college and want to apply yourself to true learning, take the AP classes and obtain your nose to the grindstone.

AP classes demand more effort on your part of the pack, but the bonus is that usually they can be be transferred over to the college for credit there too, so it is worth it in getting ahead in your pre-med plans.
