How do doctors diagnose OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder)?

just wondering....do they just ask you questions nearly your habits, then judge your condition base on that ?
that seems a bit like.....guessing ?

is there any process to check for it ?

thank you for your answer
Answers:
Most psychological diagnoses are resembling this. The only way to check for these conditions is to assess the behavior and thoughts of the patient.

I've be diagnosed with mild OCD. My psychologist listened to what I said about devoted thoughts that distressed me and distracted me from every day things and compulsions that took up time.
The Merck Manual link belows lists the criteria.
