Is taking 5 mg of Valium ok for a single time use and when shoud I repeat the dose?
I get panic attacks when I'm alone. Now I’m flying alone and I bought some valium here in Thailand and will be flying for 17 hours. I enjoy taken 2.5 mg when I have a mild panic attack and it works and doesn't make me sleepy, but this time it's worse and I'm extremely restless.
I'm planning on taking 5 mg before leaving and don't know when to take the subsequent 5 mg.

Are your pills within a 5 mg strength? Does your directions say to take 1/2- 1 tablet (2.5 - 5 mg)?? If so, then yes bear the 5 mg.
While 5 mg is not a high dose, If you are prescribed just 2.5 mg, you cannot just double your dose short speaking to your doctor...

DOSING: Diazepam may be taken with or short food. Diazepam is metabolized by the liver and excreted mainly by the kidney. Unfortunately most of the effect of taking diazepam beneath the circumstances you describe is a combination of placebo and sedation so taking additional doses is unlikely to help you. Source(s): GP for more years than I care to remember
