Answers:
Stem cell research is very controversial.

The basics:
Scientists believe closely of good medical breakthroughs could come out of studying and utilizing stem cells. On the other hand, some those think that it is morally wrong because of where the stem cells come from.

Stem cell are special because they can grow into any kind of cell. This leads scientists to believe we could one day grow cell for people who have been deformed within someway or have lost a lot of skin. Surely being competent to grow new cells would help those living near cancer and and serious injuries. Stem cells could help almost any part of the body.

There is little controversy when we agree about stem cells extracted (painfully) from bone marrow or from umbilical cords. The most rich source of stem cells, however, comes from human embryos. As you can think, those that believe life begins at the point of conception (sperm meets egg) grain that using an embryo for research would mean ending a life. Others argue that the egg have no features of a human being, and that the baby would have be aborted anyway. (The embryos come from abortions).

You should try looking up current events on the subject and see what the newest legislation is. To the best of my knowledge, stem cell research is endorsed but only with the embryos they already have. (Scientists cannot ensue more embryos.) Source(s): Look at pros/cons here:
