For example, one patient's infected surgical site developed into cellulitis (infection spreads in skin), then bacteremia (infection spreads contained by blood), then endocarditis (heart lining becomes infected), near permanent heart damage and the patient on the heart transplant catalogue after surviving cardiac arrest.....the patient was 15 years old.
