What is the average income of a female eye doctor?
Answers:
Optometrists make about 91,000 dollars a year. (84,000-150,000 is a range)

Opthalmologists (eye surgeons) trade name a lot more than that. I would say around 250, 000 a year.

here is a link to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. It does depend on experience, location where on earth you work, and other factors maybe like whether you work contained by a private office or hospital (I think on the last one) Source(s): http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos073.htm#earni…
Just to attach to the first author's discussion, there are optometrists who perform basic optical exams (refractions, etc.) who work in local strip malls and such; they're not physicians and do NOT attend medical school.

Ophthalmologists, on the other hand, are physicians. They own completed medical school and they handle the spectrum of diseases/conditions of the eye. Some sub-specialize further into such fields as cosmetic/reconstructive or retinal specialty. An opthalmologist is trained contained by eye surgery.

Income varies drastically according to geography. Additionally, an associate in a group will make considerably smaller quantity than a partner. A partner in a group which does well can make an income explicitly on par with other lucrative surgical specialties. The gender of the physician doesn't really factor much into any of the income stats. Source(s): http://www.aao.org/
