Would purified oxycodone stayed dissolved within dampen?
After my husband died I found a clear vile with a rubber thing on top with nozzle holes in it. I also found a white powder that I think is purified oxycodone. Would oxycodone stay dissolved in hose?
Answers:
Yes, oxycodone is water soluable and will be soluable even at temperatures close to freezing. Drug abusers use a process called "cold marine extraction" where they dissolve pills containing oxycodone in water and cool the sea so the oxycodone stays dissolved and the tylenol or whatever else is in the pill can be filtered out.
No, oxycodone would not stay surrounded by solution with water. It would fall out of solution pretty in a flash once the sample was brought back to room heat. It is possible that there are some other things that could be added to the vial to make it stay in solution, or it is possible that te vial have something else in it entirely. I would suggest shaking it up and seeing if you see any particulate matter that may have settled on the bottom float spinal column up into the rest of the solution.
It sounds to me that the vial you are describing is an actual vial of pharmaceutical mediation that is suspended and put into solution by a pharmaceutical manufacturing company. Something like IV morphine, Fentanyl, etc. Did your husband work at a hospital, or own access to pharmaceuticals like that? Usually they keep a pretty good lock on those type drugs, but no system is supreme.
The white powder may be cocaine. Many people like to "speed-ball" they take an opiate and the chase it beside cocaine....do no know if that is the case here, but it could be a feasible explanation.
You can cart a sample of both the powder and the liquid to your family doctor and hold him send it out to a clinical lab like LabCrop, who can do an unknown analysis on it and tell you exactly what it is. That is the solely real way you will know.
