i had one last week but i didnt go see a doctor or anything. t kinda go away.
You can have an infected lymph node, just approaching you can have an infected tonsil. That's the most likely answer. There are more serious conditions, but most likely you hold a pocket of infection. Go get it checked out.
Typically swollen glands and lymph nodes are indicative of an infection. Keep in mind that this is not always the case and that here are many other medical conditions that can cause swollen or enlarged lymph nodes, however if this lymph node became swollen contained by an acute (fast) fashion, then it is just most possible due to something like a sinus infection, a virus or even an ear infection (being that the swelling is localized to only one side).
Some people will be more prone to have thier lymph nodes swell durring bouts with infection than others. It could be that you are one of those people. In fact in recent times this past Friday, I came down with for a time respiratory issue (not even a big enough deal to warrant a doctors trip) and both of my lymph nodes were so swollen (the right worse than the left) so much that it in actual fact effected my swallowing. I took my temperature and it was elevated. After taking some Tylenol, the disorientation broke and the lymph nodes went back to thier normal size.
I would voice it is nothing to worry about unless, you open to experience any unusual symptoms along with it (symptoms that you do not normally experience with a cold or a typical sinus infection) or if the swelling become worse and/or does not reduce within another 3 to 5 days.
Check out your temperature and see if it is elevated and if so and you hold no contraindications for taking Tylenol or Ibuprofen, then go ahead and take one of those medication according to label instructions to bring your fever down, and of course, if a confusion presists for more than a day or two (with taking a medication like Tylenol) and or becomes extremley elevated (depending on what your own mundane body temperature typically runs-this could be between 99-101 degrees F), then shift ahead and get to a doctor as soon as possible. Likely just an infection, though a swollen lymph node can be an indication of far more serious problems. If it's still swollen after a day or two you should return with in to see a doctor. Better safe than sorry.
