Advice on what other A-level to purloin?
I would like to be a doctor and I'm planning on taking these A-levels-
Maths
Chemistry
Biology
I am unsure of what other subject to take- any advice?

i think a vernacular would be good and look good on your CV ro whatever
Chemistry and biology are the essential subjects required to study medicine however my friend who is a complete nerd is also studying maths as well as physics and is looking to become a doctor too (and will propably be going to Cambridge)... beside there four subjects you would be with out a doubt fulfilling the subject criteria for studying medicine, however to get hold of into a good university that specialises in medicine it is impressive to have a good academic job, such as being part of school team and other organisations....With good qualities in adjectives these aspects i would be fairly sure you would be able to become a sucessful doctor!
Take something less stressful to balance it out, like a oral communication, music, drama or sociology...english lit is pretty cool.
You can always drop it after a year anyway.
I wouldn't advise taking business studies. Its awful.
I took biology ,chemistry and physics.
I fell at the rear in physics and dropped it because when it came to Newtons laws , adjectives the people doing maths as well had already covered the subject and our mentor said he wasn't going over it again for the sake of the three of us who weren't doing maths as well.
Just something to bear in mind.
Ps. A horizontal biology is brilliant !
don't do physics, universities prefer a contrasting subject next to the sciencey subjects that are necessary. UCL actually wrote in their prospectus that students offering a contrasting subject will be see as more appealing. do a subject like a humanity or something creative. maybe geography, a language or something resembling that to show you are a well rounded individual and a geek only into science.
so basically anything you guess you are really good at and would seem good to a uni.
one-sidedly i'm doing biology, chemistry, maths and latin a levels next year, and i'd also like to study medicien, so worthy luck!

Yeah those are fine. I took them and History and Further Maths. If you get on bestow from a medical school it would be to get AAA in maths, chemistry and biology. The others you can transport at your own leisure - id recommend history as I enjoyed it and the essay writing skills come contained by useful when you have to sit the BMAT. So I'd say you could pilfer the opportunity of doing an arts subject, it wont help you necessarily but itd give a bit of variety. Source(s): med student - imperial college london
