Question nearly taking antibiotics?
I was just wondering why it matters if you pinch them before or during food. Some say you must take them next to meals and some an hour before, why does this matter and what happen if you don't obey? Just curious, cheers for any help
Answers:
It does matter contained by most cases because food or certain food products will interfere with the absorption of the medication, and so you may not achieve therapeutic levels of the medication within your blood stream. Some, like doxycyline can be taken with meals because food does not interfere near absorption of this particular tetracycline and the drug can upset your stomach. My advice would be to follow the directions on the sign (which I am sure you will!) and to direct questions to your pharmacist about any prescription you have. They are awfully knowledgeable!
