Did I nearly own a Caffeine Overdose?

Hey all, So today I did a dare and I'm wondering weather or not I put my life at risk; my dad and teacher say I did. During a usual boring recess break at my school. A few friends dared me to move about up to the canteen lady at my school and just dispassionately ask "1 iced coffee, 1-packet of chips and a 10 tea-spoon coffee" SO the bit I'm focusing on here happens to be the 10 tea-spoon coffee. I poured little water in and be filmed downing the whole thing within one gulp.

I went completely hypo, my heart was beating so hasty; it felt like a single long beat and my hand were moving uncontrollably in class. Fun experience. Oh and to top it adjectives off just to give me a bit of an added boost. I ate adjectives 20 something of my random candies full of sugar. I felt a slight pain surrounded by my chest and never actually had a sugar crash But what I'm wondering is. Was this dangerous, My dad say I could have given myself a heart attack! That oughta make life more interesting. But did I really put my vivacity at risk people?
Answers:
Yes, you did put your life at risk. Caffeine increases heart rate. Too much caffeine can speed the heart to the point it begins whipping abnormally, and then begins to newly quiver instead of actually pumping blood by beating. People drop dead when that happen.
I've see people overdose on caffeine. They got really really sick. Tired, drowsy, achy. Their vision be impared, their speech was slurred, and they could barely move. They took powdered caffeine. It's hard to od on it contained by drink form, since the amount takes longer to enter your body. If you OD'd on caffeine, you would definitely know it. And you would definitely not be bragging just about it.

Stop showing off.
Well caffeine is a drug.It does exactly that hypes you up.I don't think it hurt anything but you see why not to OD on things.Take those drinks resembling red bull,it's caffeine I head some guy drank like 7 of them he went to the ER,
heart whipping really fast ,this is dumb.
That could have been dangerous. That much cause the Liver to start working quickly, and causes nerves to use energy too at a rate of knots. You can cause serious damage to yourself! And that much candy is very easier said than done on the kidneys and pancreas! That is way to much glucose in your blood stream!
I'm not sure what you mean by a 10 teaspoon coffee, but assuming you mean an espresso double shot (which would be ~10 teaspoons)....you be just wired.

Each shot of espresso has about partially the caffeine content as a 6oz cup of coffee, so a double shot is like one cup of coffee. Mixed with the iced coffee you have going on for 2-3 cups of coffee at once.

Caffeine overdose/toxicity won't be reached for an adult until they've consume 80-100 cups of coffee in a predetermined time frame.

That said, too much caffeine on a regular basis can lead to heart problems, so you should listen to your body. As a general rule (in any situation), twinge means stop. Chest pain means STOP. Source(s): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caffeine#Caffeine_intoxication
