How much hydrogen peroxide is surrounded by this solution?
I bought a 100ml bottle of hydrogen peroxide solution yesterday, and to be honest I really have no idea how much actual hydrogen peroxide is in here. it says '10 volume (30g/kg)' and the ingredients list is hydrogen peroxide 30g/kg, Phenacetin 0.09g/L, Phosphoric Acid 0.16/L.
So if someone could give me a percentage or similar of how much hydrogen peroxide is within this 100ml bottle of hyrdrogen peroxide solution that would be great.
Thanks in advance
Answers:
When it says you hold 30g/kg of hydrogen peroxide, that means for every kilogram of solution you have, 30 grams of that solution is hydrogen peroxide. A kilogram of solution can be considered a kilogram of water, which is duplicate as 1000 mL or 1000 g of water. So the actual percentage of hydrogen peroxide you have is 30 g / 1000 g = 0.03 = 3% hydrogen peroxide.
Most bottles of hydrogen peroxide for home use are a 3% solution, anyway. Source(s): UW pharmacy student
