Warfarin acts on prothrombin which is factor II, and not thrombin which is factor I, accordingly not affecting thrombin time which is a measure of the rate of conversion of fibrinogen to fibrin. If it were the prothrombin time that is measured, later warfarin will definitely affect it.
i think that they dont depend on the F II of the body because the test is perform by adding dilute bovine thrombin to patient plasma and recording the time surrounded by seconds for a clot to form.
since warfarrin inhibit the synthesis of F II in liver so it does not effect the added bovine F II .
