What is stronger valium or ativan?

I get very bad nouns attacks, and clonopin is not helping anymore, so I was wondering which one was better?? I'm also on prozac for anxiety.
I don't have any ideal which is stronger, why not try visit with your physician, someone who is qualified to answer your questions.

Take Care of Yourself
ativan (lorazepam) gives you a hangover response...it's a nasty drug to take...ugh..valium (diazepam) makes you sleepy really in haste...you can take any of these 2 if you'd like to go to sleep...but for hysterics attacks xanax would be a better choice Source(s): knowledge
The FDA has approved Clonazepam (Klonopin/Rivotril) and Xanax (alprazolam) for frenzy disorder, no other benzodiazepines are technically approved, but they still work.

Ativan is more potent than Valium. Meaning that 0.5-1 mg of Ativan is equal to 10 mg of Valium.

Valium lasts longer than Ativan. Ativan is more commonly used for panic attacks because it does not work as long. But contrary to popular belief, Valium works faster than Ativan.

Also depending on if you would take the pills as needed or take it for daily use. For as needed (when you have a madness attack only) then I recommend Xanax with Ativan as a second choice.

Valium is better if you are taking it daily. Or Xanax XR.

But that is to say all theory. Everyone is different. I have nouns disorder and I have taken about 12 different benzodiazepines for it. I personally do not resembling Ativan and I really dislike Clonazepam.

Xanax, Valium, and Ativan tend to me more addictive (but it is rare). But Valium is typically easiest to stop (and physical dependence, which is not addiction, will typically occur if taken daily for a long time.

But if it is between Ativan and Valium I would say Ativan is more repeatedly better. Source(s): I am a medical student at a research university in Montréal for both psychiatry and internal medicine.
