then the message it was trying to relay would not be communicated to the brain...this could be deadly since the brain is the "cranium honcho" and if the brain isn't getting a message that something is wrong, so it can release the right chemicals to fix something then death can result...i.e. your heart is pumping too fast because of exercise and your brain releases epinephrine....speeding it up...heart attack- disappearance
Usually there is a lot of redundancy in neural circuits - especially critical ones. So within most cases the loss of a signal in a single neuron will not have any bad consequence; in attendance will be many similar neurons providing similar information.
If, however, all of the parallel pathways containing critical information are blocked, at hand is a good chance that the consequences would be deadly. If the neurons transport pain information about you are touching something very hot, you might suffer severe burns since realizing this. If the neurons carry information to your diaphragm to breathe ... you know that you cannot live very long in need oxygen. If the neurons carry information from your eyes to your brain, you wouldn't be able to take evasive deed when you see a car traveling the wrong way in your lane. The possibilities are perpetual!
