This is something like neurology..?
The patient will undergo evacuation of hematoma. He was rushed to the o.r. What would be the priority nursing interventions to prevent increase contained by ICP after surgery? Thanks!
Answers:
Monitoring lenient, recording vital signs, completing GCS and report any change. Also following post op instructions and regime of meds.
It sounds close to you're a medical or nursing student. So, if you really want to be able to do well as a doctor/nurse ,etc you should figure it out yourself. I wouldn't want a doctor/nurse etc who tried to bring back other people to do their homework while in school
Postop interventions:
nurse head up;
maintain normal arterial carbon dioxide concentration;
verbs serum sodium concentration ~145mmol;
avoid fever / shivering;
if there are wound drains, make sure they are functioning;
if within is a ventricular drain, make sure it is functioning;
sedation as required;
caution with anticoagulants / antiplatelet drugs.
your asking this on yahoo! answers.. as a doctor?
