Amoxicillin & Birth Control Pill?
This might take some explaining. Please try to follow & help me because I have a completely important question. I am on the pill. I got my tonsils removed July 10th. That hours of daylight i was put on amoxicillin, 3 doses for 10 days, so on the 20th i took the last dose. the day i took the concluding dose i had also taken my first placebo pill of four. My question is when is it safe for me to own sex again and rely on my pill? I want to know for sure that it is working incase anything happens. I feel really stupid because i had sex near my boyfriend today without a condom (spur of the moment) but i told him to pull out even before any precum get out, and he says he did. I am just very paranoid. I am on the 8th involved pill today, so i have taken a full week of my pill. Does this mean i was protected today? Thanks =/

I would wait til the start of your next cycle, waiting 7-10 days should be safe, but to rule out any slim likelihood... wait longer... dont want an amoxicilin baby
I would muse your safe, BUT PLEASE, If you have a question similar to this, why not call your Pharmacist or Doctor, they and you are the only ones who know your body and what drugs you have be on and for what.
You should use an alternate form of birth control while you are taking the antibiotic and for 7-10 days after you stop them. In this situation, you should be covered. Source(s): Pharmacist
