A press in the region of doctors?

I am doing an assignment on being a doctor.

I'm just wondering, I know that there are interns... But I other thought after that they go into residency and get their own interns.
But now I'm not relatively sure?
Can anyone please clear this up for me?

In most residencies, the term "intern" is no longer formally used. It is, however, widely used informally to indicate a PGY-1, or post-graduate year one. Upper even residents are referred to by their respective years, ie PGY-2, PGY-3, PGY-4, and it can go up from there, depending on the specialty.

In summary, the first year of residency is frequently called an "internship year".
After medical school most enter a internship of some sort for a year. During that year the new doctors rotate through various medical specialties contained by the hospital, under the supervision of residents and attending physicians. Residents are doctors who have completed their internship and who are persuing specialty training. Attending physicians are those who have completed their residencies. So, surrounded by a sense residents do have their own interns (as well as medical students who are completing clinical rotations.) Source(s): RN
