I want to be a surgeon when I grow up..?
Because I'm not afraid of blood or innards. I'm really relaxed and calm and straight-thinking for bedside things...It's just I really can't deal next to needles. I think that will go away if I really think of it within another way or with practice though. I'm very remarkably good at school, I really just love structure and science, chemistry, and biology that's probably why. I'm a good student all around (except P.E, sorry thats the only B or C+). Anyway, I be wondering if needles are involved in surgery or will need to be performed by the prevalent surgeon. Whats the highest paying surgeon? I think it might be heart, but that take, what, 12 years? Not relatively that much, maybe 8 or 9 years in uni would be fine. Thanks!

Of course needles are involved in surgery! Wtf?! Salaries vary, but plastic and cardiac surgeons are definitely up in that. Why are you even interested in medicine? It takes more than not self afraid of blood and wanting a high salary to make it into the medical area, you know.
Sorry about Dan he seem to be cocky and believe hes smarter than everyone else because e is a doctor. Your subjects sounds great but what you have to understand is that to be a surgeon you first have to be a doctor and walk through residency, this means working in many departments of the hospital since you specialise in surgery. This means A LOT of needles but its definitely something you can overcome near exposure.
Try and get work experience in hospitals and if you have St Johns ambulance cadet where you live join them because its a great way to see if you would delight in the health industry and it looks great on a resume.
As far as the years go you would be looking more at 12 years before you be a certified surgeon but i couldnt be sure because im not at that stage yet.

FIrst point: Going into Medicine for the money is the wrong reason. You can make profoundly more money with less work, training and expense in heaps other fields. The average drag-line operator makes more per hour than the average FP.
Next: unless your are phobic to the point of need Psychiatric help, you will get used to needles. You will be using them on others.
Consider your motives. Telling the Admissions Committee you want to go into Medicine to construct a lot of money is the kiss of death. You have to WANT to oblige people as your main interest. A better than average standard of living is an acceptable motivation, so is the intellectual challenge of Medicine.
Getting Rich is not acceptable.
YOU want to be the main surgeon.
FIgure give or take a few 15 years for a surgical sub-specialty. After Medical School.
