What type of doctor/surgeon have the most believable working conditions?
What doctors/surgeons won't have to endure 24 hour shifts and 70+ hour work weeks.

hi I find your question a bit strange. Are you planning to be a doctor or surgeon?. your interest in working hours isn't really the right attitude for going into this profession. doctors have a particular interest and desire to work surrounded by a field, stimulated by ongoing knowledge in an nouns and a desire to help.. you don't sound like you know much in the region of medicine. All students must study a mimimum of 6 years at medicine, then do two years at a hospital as an intern and a registrar. the hours they work are 60-80 per week due to the doctor shortage. here they find experience across many areas of medicine and work under the guidance of senior registrars on the ward and specialist doctors/surgeons who operate. after about two years doctors can apply for registration in general practice. these doctors (GPs) can work bureau hours or overtime or nights /parttime or fulltime or however they want to at a general practice. they also may wish to specialise contained by certain fields in their broad practice eg obesity, geriatrics, children etc. if you want to specialise in a particular enclosed space and operate and align yourself with one or several hospitals, then you have to work within that field at a hospital and get extra training for several years and go for sophisticated degrees and qualifications. obviously elective surgery eg liposuction, eye operation etc in fact any preplanned surgery means the doctor can choose his/her hours of working, whereas emergency operation may happen at any time.. i think if you're not cut out to do the 70 hours plus a week and get adjectives the necessary experience, then medicine is not for you. it's not an graceful job, it takes dedication and commitment. people beside half hearted interests can't stick it out. it's very emotionally, intellectually and physically draining. it's a life choice. again, if you're so worried more or less conditions, become a dentist or pharmacist if you can get the marks!! good luck
Pediatricians/family doctors hands down own the best hours, and is the "easiest" position to attain when in med school. After that, Dermatology, or any of the ROAD specialties (Radiology, Opthamology, Anesthesiology, Dermatology) have pretty clothed hours.
Emergency medicine works 3 days 12 hours a day or something like that, consequently are just on call the rest of the week, so I guess that alright too.
The only downside is that adjectives the hour friendly specialties just so happen to be the most demanding, except for like PM&R (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation) which have normal hours like Peds or Family practice.
I worked at a Hospital for 4 years within the X-Ray department as a maintenanceman who fixed the machines. Radiologist.
