To adjectives of the pharmacists out in attendance today...?
I'm a junior in high school very soon, and I'm still not sold on a career that I would like to have. Although I enjoy narrowed down my job choices to physician and pharmacist, I still think that I don't know enough almost pharmacies in general to make a wearing clothes career decision.
I suppose that one question I recurrently have is how would you describe your pay and standard of living?
Answers:
Some can make 70 an hour for a 10 hour shift. That's over $2000 a week
I am 18 and headed to school the end of August to start a Pharmacy program... I've other been interested in medicine and own considered a psychiatrist, and also a physician as well... but i decided to give Pharmacy a try. I'm not exactly sure how economically I will do trying to pursue the career, as there's alot of math involved and that's one of my weaker subjects, but I'm willing to give it a try.
As far as retribution, you make about 100k a year, just starting out... my cousin's cousin is a bio chemist and his girlfriend is a Pharmacist and togehter they form a really nice living... one of her paychecks alone is over 2k dollars. I say go with what you grain most interested in... physicians make about double the annual gross but there's alot more schooling involved... but 100k a year as a pharmacist isn't that bad either. Best of luck. =) --- I think I'll requirement it, IDK about you =P
If I were you I would consider Physican's Assistant or Medical School over that of pharmacy. Too masses regulations, thefts (that they can blame on you) and robberies are a risk, the Boards of Pharmacy can sometimes operate as extensions of Human Resouces of the big chains rather than what they are suppose to be.
There is alot of misinformation about drugs in a minute, as a pharmacist you cannot say, hey that is a bad drug and not dispense it. As a doctor your still given misinformation but you can choose what to prescribe and run your own business if you want. Pharmacy inventory expenses engender it too costly to stock for an independent pharmacist.
Whichever career you go into get a used imperative textbook for your personal library, make it a hobby. Lawyers like long drawn out cases and oftentimes just don't know or prudence to do their homework.
