Can I donate blood surrounded by the UK?

I have heard a lot in the order of BSE, and I lived in the UK during the outbreak and may have eaten contaminated beef. Will I own to be checked before donating, or am I not allowed to donate at all?

i devise if u were infected u would have symptoms by now i don't even know how they would check for something close to that just tell them u lived in the uk around the time of the problem
