How will an MRI recount doctors....?

.....what is in a cyst? I have PCOS (Poly Cystic Ovary System), and they want to know what's inside the cyst. How will an MRI tell them? How are MRI's read? Are the results instant?

Thanks so much.
Answers:
Nuclear Magnetic Resonance can be used to see the shape of something and also to see what substances are surrounded by it eg water, fat, blood, pus or specific molecules.

The doctor looking at the scans will be capable of tell what it is, based on the signal strength (how "light' or "dark") of the area of interest.

The results are not instant. The doctor will enjoy to get around to looking at your scan after it is done, then have a focus about it, then dictate a report, then enjoy a secretary type the report, etc. So it can take some time.
I'm not sure whether an MRI will tell them but i'm sure that they know how to read it and that it takes a long time to lift them; you'll be in a machine for a long time.
