How long does it lift for a penicillin shot to start working?

So,my doctor gave me 12 penicillin shots for a throat infection.
I've already taken 3 of them,and still have fever and get the impression tired.
When will they start working?
Answers:
Shots? or pills?

Whatever. The penicillin should have kicked in within minutes. I can reflect of two reasons off the bat why you still feel sick.

1) You own a viral infection, and the Doc gave you the antibiotic just to make sure that you don't go and get infected with something worse while your defenses are down.

2) The bug that you are infected with is resistant to penicillin.
