You need to talk to your doctor about this. Some SSRIs must be narrowed off - you can't just stop.
Why do you want to stop? Unless it's because you don't like Lexapro (I didn't), it's probably best to verbs with your medication - 3 months isn't a very long time.
If you just don't close to Lexapro, your doctor may advise you to change to another SSRI. I went from Lexapro to Prozac short any time in between, just changed over, and I had no problems.
The Prozac worked for me, and, next to talk therapy, allowed me the space to get my existence together. For the last 3 years, I've been off medication and I've be happier than I've ever been.
Yes, yes, yes. The above is correct. SSRI drugs are some of the worst to stop taking suddenly. Even though you feel as though they are not helping you or making any impact on you, they are if only from a chemical process situation inwardly the brain.

Stopping these drugs suddenly (even if you have only been on them for a month or 6 weeks) can motive severe withdrawl and also these drugs have a high risk to cause paroxysm in patients who stop them suddenly.

I would urge you to ween off of this drug under the thought of a doctor. Even if you do not want to take any more medicine (which I know many empire do get to that point), at least go subsidise to the doc long enough for her/she to help you taper off slowly and without risk.

If you cannot make it to your doctor, or are no longer a patient of the prescribing doctor, then at smallest make sure to taper off of this drug slowly. If you do not have ample of the drug left to taper off of, then you will call for to go to the doctor or a walk in clinic (wherever you can spawn it) and have a script written that will allow you to have enough to soundly taper off. In some cases if you have a good relationship or hold been a long standing patient with a medical clinic, next you can simply call and have them call you contained by some additional pills to the pharmacy.

Hey,

I stared taking Lexapro about 2.5 years ago for "circumstantial" depression. I was also attending psycho-therapy sessions monthly, but when the symptoms of depression get very hard, i.e suicidal thoughts constantly, I increased these sessions to weekly.
The therapy help me more than Lexapro ever could have. Now, with help from the Therapist, I've worked out what my demons are and am competent to recognize their triggers.

I stopped taking Lexapro (cold turkey) over 2 weeks ago. Initially I stopped accidentally. I started a new job that changed my each day routine. At day 5 of not taking Lexapro, I decided to continue cold-turkey as I hadn't experienced any household symptoms of withdrawal. However, within a few days the symptoms began within earnest and continue still. My symptoms were as follows:-

General malaise
Chronic lethargy
Crying spell (just once thank God!)
Dizziness accompany with "electic brain zaps". (By far, the most persistant symptom for me)
Irritability and unreasonable aggression
Slight diarrhea

Like most people have stated, going stale a potent drug like Lexapro cold turkey is not a good idea. I wouldn't do it again. My consultant recommended weaning off very slowly over a period of time that is to say half the amount of time that you've been taking the drug.

I certainly would't recommend going Cold Turkey you to anyone else.

Hope this help, Source(s): Experience
