Doctors? Medical/Pharmaceutical put somebody through the mill?

When on the antibiotic Docycycl HYC,
(which was prescribed for acne)
Is it possible to get a UTI?

For some reason I hold a notion that when on antibiotics you can't get any type of "infection".

Please clarify :)

There are enormous numbers of different bacteria. Just similar to humans, they have different likes and dislikes, and just close to humans they are sensitive to some things but not others. There are several so-called broad-spectrum antibiotics which are active against a wide range of organisms, but in that is no safe antibiotic which can truly deal with every single bacterium.
So the answer to your sound out is yes. Doxycycline is good for acne, but not a good choice for UTIs. Source(s): 38 years in pills
Docycycl HYC is targeted specifically for the treatment of acne and would not be good against UTI. I would not recommend that you take antibiotics just to evade contracting a UTI as this predisposes you to antibiotic resistance and the potential to put your bodies own microbial flora out of balance thus leaving you vulnerable to opportunistic infections eg: thrush
