How can doctors treat somebody for something if they don't know what the enjoy?

my 12 yr old daughter woke up april 2008 with the mind of a three year old can't win a diagnosis. can anybody help me with a possible diagnosis
Answers:
For the bold part of your answer, doctors can other treat someone without knowing what they have, because they simply are just treating the symptoms. So for example I budge into the hospital with a severe headache causing pain and blurry daydream and the doctor can treat these symptoms without diagnosing me first, because he/she will just give me some drug for the distress and possibly a drug for the visual disturbance without even knowing the root cause for the headache. The ill-fated thing these days is that the medical world is becoming more and more concerned about treating symptoms than they are within actually diagnosing the problem and curring it.

For the rest of your question, these sounds very serious to me. I would want to know what type of doctors you enjoy seen. Have you taken your daughter to see a board certified neurologist yet? Have there be any CT scans or MRI scans performed on your daughter as of even so? Also have any of the doctors that she has been see by ordered any lab work, and if so what lab work have they ordered and what were the results. I would specifically be interested in study the results of a tox screen. If a tox screen has not be performed then this needs to be ordered ASAP.

I would also want to know if near was any prior trauma experienced by your daughter, either emotional trauma or physical trauma. Even if it be just something as simple as hitting her head on the car door, or possibly seeing a vehicle accident occur, anything that you can think of. Also did you thought any other changes in her mood, demenor, physcial appearance, etc. in the months primary up to the incident?

If you can provide anymore information then I will try to help you more. You can email me at: icpmslabrat(a)yahoo.com

I am very sorry nearly your daughter. Source(s): Phd Toxicologist
Some catastrophic events are not easily explained. Did your daughter suffer a severe head injury? Severe infection like meningitis or encephalitis? Exposure to toxin/poison? A stroke or hemorrhage into the brain, a ruptured aneurysm? In adults tumors repeatedly present gradually, but in children they may present very acutely. Genetic diseases ordinarily do not in attendance so suddenly.

Have you consulted a respected neurologist or neurosurgeon? What studies have been performed?
