Out of coma, is this credible?
I'm writing a story about a girl who comes out of a coma, 1 week later she is able to transport a text to her mother. Is this realistic or are peoples fine motor moments usually slack after coming out of a coma and theerefore would not be able to transport a text.
Please no guesses, I want answers from people with experience/knowledge to answer

It depends on how she get in the coma. And yes it is realistic for someone to wake up from a coma and set book. People usually lose some motor functions. Again it depends on how she got in the coma.

I have had several patients come out of a coma after more than a week. The amount of recovery is not precisely predictable. Assuming your heroine knew how to text previously her coma, your scenario is plausible, but it is somewhat of a stretch. . Source(s): Retired doc.
