Don't worry too much about exact timing. The xanax is a fairly benign drug as it have an incredibly low toxicity and its effects do not vary widely over small concentration ranges. Just take it approximately every 6 hours and don't worry if you steal it at 10pm one night, then 9am the next morning. It would be best to establish a stencil; take one when you wake up, then one surrounded by the early afternoon, then one late afternoon, later one just before bed.
