Anestesia Side Effects (URGENT)?

One of my friends had a tonsillectomy (tonsil removal surgery) earlier today and had to be put beneath by anesthesia. The surgery went very well and he experienced no problems forthwith after the surgery. Lately, however, he has been extremely disoriented and confused. I'm seriously concerned by this, as it seems he have forgotten where he is and who he is.

Does anyone know what's going on? Do we need to go to the Emergency Dept. directly?

Yes that is not normal except if it's right after he came out of it. I'd attain him to the ER right away. What kind of pain killers is he on? Some hold weird side effects, but don't mess around with it and assume that's all it is and he'll snap out of it. Good luck hope he is ok.
When he was discharged, he should've been given a # to call (the surgeon) for any problems. Call them up to that time you run to the ER.
