If and when they're symptomatic, there is right upper quadrant or epigastric pain which often radiate to the right scapula. If the stones are blocking the common duct, there may be jaundice. If it's higher upwards, the dull pain is described as biliary colic. If it obstructs the common bile duct, it can lead to cholangitis and if the obstruct stone is low enough it will actually lead to pancreatitis.
