Can you produce endorphins outside the body?

Does anyone know if you can create endorphins in a lab, or is there some way of extracting it from the body?
Answers:
All of the six set endorphin peptides are small enough that they could be synthesized using solid phase peptide synthesis. However this process is not rapid, very complex and slightly expensive. Alternatively you could clone the endorphin genes into a bacteria and harvest them from that, also a rather complex process.

Aside from in-vitro carrying out tests purposes, there's really not much need for these. As peptides that are only active in the central nervous system, they're basically useless as pharmacological products.
